Online RN-BSN Bridge Programs and Pre-licensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Degrees

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is widely recognized as providing the level of education and experience today’s RNs need for a practical understanding of everything from health promotion and genetic counseling to screening and disease prevention. As more hospitals look at ways to increase the number of BSN-educated RNs on staff, they are more often choosing to hire only BSN-prepared RNs out of nursing school, while also offering incentives to encourage current staff RNs to pursue bachelor’s degrees.

As the BSN emerges as the new education standard in registered nursing, pre-licensure BSN programs provide new nursing students with a path to licensure that aligns with employer expectations. RN-to-BSN bridge programs are specifically designed for ADN-educated RNs, and provide an accelerated path to earning a bachelor’s degree, often in a flexible online format designed to accommodate the schedule of working RNs.
